Apricots are the first fresh fruit of summer so we feel it’s fitting that we use the fruit to celebrate the season…two weekends in a row!
Sunday, August 5th brings the release of Hangar 24′s famed Polycot. An instant Hangar 24 fan favorite with a fervent following, and a member of the Local Fields Series, Polycot is a wheat-wine style ale brewed with thousands of pounds of locally grown, organic apricots from Southern California’s High Desert..
Polycot will be available on draught and in 22 oz. bottles in the Tasting Room Sunday, August 5th and throughout Southern California beginning Monday, August 6.
Polycot is brewed only once per year and people are know to stock-pile, so get yours while it lasts!
If barrel-aged beers are more your speed, then Sunday, August 12th is the day for you as we’ll release Barrel Roll #05, Chandelle . Chandelle started as Polycot poured into Oak Barrels with fresh apricots, brettanomyces yeasts and souring bacteria. Additional apricots were added again throughout the twelve month aging process.
Only 1300, 750mL bottles of Chandelle were produced, so this will be a brewery release only, and there will be no pre-sale (except for Hangar 24 Bronze Level Frequent Flyers). Doors open for Chandelle sales on Sunday, August 12 at 11am and we’ll sell it ’till it’s gone!
750mL bottle: $20, limit 3 per person.
Once again a giant “thank you” goes out to all of feverish volunteers who pit and de-sticker the Polycot apricots each year. Consider yourself a huge contributing factor to two of our favorite beers.
Are you familiar with Hangar 24′s The Local Fields Series ? The Local Fields Series consists of six specialty beers each brewed only once per year with locally sourced ingredients. Our Local Fields beers showcase unique seasonal styles and distinct flavor combinations and each label represents the local ingredient and a nearby airfield.
